The 16th arrondissement once consisted of many small villages that inspired the writer Honore de Balzac and the architect Hector Guimard. Today it is still one of the most emblematic quarters of the capital and houses many of the city’s historic monuments. Within walking distance of your accommodation you will find Musée Georges Clemenceau, Musée de l’Art Moderne of Paris, Palais de Tokyo at Trocadéro with Palais de Chaillot, Musée de l’Homme, Musée de la Contrefaçon, Musée de Radio France, Musée du Vin, le Musée Galliera, Musée Guimet / Musée d’Ennery, Musée Marmottan Monet, Musée National de la Marine, Maison de Balzac and even Cité de l’Architecture. If you wish to take a scenic walk you can also vist the tree-lined woods of bois de Boulogne with its two racecourses, Roland-Garros tennis stadium, two lakes, several restaurants, green houses, a playground, bike rental shop and a castle with a magnificent rose garden.
